On Thursday, 8th October, we hosted our second annual Inter-Schools Cross Country Competition, welcoming athletes from across the region for another fantastic day of competition, determination and school spirit.
Thankfully, the weather was kind enough to spare us the worst of it and our participants once again left absolutely everything out on the course! It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, sportsmanship and fierce competition across all categories.
A huge thank you to Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown, Cashel Community School and Coláiste Abhainn Rí Callan for travelling to our school once again and providing such excellent competition for our own students. We were delighted to welcome you all back for another memorable event.
Congratulations to all of our medal winners across the various categories. A special congratulations goes to Coláiste Mhuire Johnstown, who claimed the perpetual shield for Best Overall School. This achievement was a true team effort, with every runner contributing valuable points towards the overall victory. Well done to all involved!
An event of this scale would not be possible without the tremendous support of our school community. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our LCAs, whose organisation, preparation and hard work on the day ensured that everything ran smoothly. Your contribution was invaluable to the success of the event.
We would also like to acknowledge our TY students and all the other students who volunteered their time to help throughout the day. A special word of thanks goes to the parents who generously supplied gazebos to provide shelter and donated delicious baked goods for our catering in the hall. Your support and generosity were greatly appreciated.
It was another hugely successful day for school athletics, and we are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year!
Thank you to everyone who ran, volunteered, supported and contributed to making our second Inter-Schools Cross Country Competition such a success.
